The 2MT/hr sulphonation Plant of ZHONGQING YILAN is an engineering project contract (EPC), which includes design, supplying all equipments, installation, personnel-training, commissioning, performance examination, etc.
At early September in 2006, ZHONGQING YILAN invited public bidding through YUNNAN YUNLING BIDDING CONSULTATION COMPANY. Our company got the contract with our mature technology and competitive quotation, then we signed the EPC contract at September 13th. We made optimized design; supplied all equipments, DCS computer control system and motor control system; and take charge of installation, training, commissioning, etc. We had first commissioning successfully at March 16th, 2007, and pass the performance examination test of 72 hours. Results showed this plant reach the advanced technology in the world.

Customer: Hankel (Tianjing) – invested by Hankel (Germany) only
Year: 2003

The old 2MT/hr Sulfonation plant was supplied from Italy in 1988, and stop production in 2000. Our company made reconstruction design for this plant in April, 2003, that made the technology, equipment and control system of the Plant at the state-of-the-art.
The reconstruction scope included:
1) Optimized technology of some units and whole control system; cascade control sulfonation ratio by the density of sulfonic acid; and replace whole control system and instruments.
2) Use WEIXIAN’s multistage cooling control multitube film sulfonation reactor (DKDF) to replace the old reactor; replace former gas/liquid separator, total sulfur melting unit and water chiller group; optimize air chiller loop, dryer (the former dew point is - 25℃), converter (the former has three layers and 95% conversion ratio), ageing vessel; add product cooler; and many other reconstruct items.
After reconstruction, the new 2MT/hr Sulfonation plant got successful commissioning at Sep. 16th, 2003. The produce achieves the national best quality standard; the dew point keeps below - 60℃, the conversion ratio is higher than 98%.

Customer: Shanghai JINGDI – invested by shanghai wujing chemical factory, TAYCA (Japan) and Taiwan baozhi jintong company.

JINGDI had a 3MT/hr sulphonation plant supplied from abroad at 1997. In 2003, they consigned us to supply a 1.6MT/hr sulfonation plant with DCS computer control system and local instrument. The processes begin with conveying 10% SO3-dry air gas, which comes from vitriol factory. This plant got successful commissioning at Sep. 29, 2003. The produce achieves the national best quality standard. The Plant operates steadily, the control system and product quality is obviously better than the imported one. The cascade controlling sulfonation ratio by density of sulfonic acid primely solves the problems caused by 10% SO3-dry air gas and unsteady concentration.

These four Plants were all designed and supplied by WEIXIAN, the supply scope included whole equipments and control system in sulfur melting unit, sulfur combustion unit, air dry unit, SO3 film sulphonation unit, ageing & stabilization unit, etc., also included technical service. It just cost half years from the contract date to first commissioning. It was always in an orderly way, from installation , rectifying, blowing & cleaning, single device operation, single system and single device debugging, leak checking, preheating in baker, to product coming out, which guaranteed producing quality product at the first commissioning, and the waste acid was little (just several hundreds kilogram). The first batch of product was the first grade as national standard. All of these were benefit of our professional technical services (personnel training, installation guidance & checking, commissioning indication, after-commissioning services) in the total process.

Pilot Plant: Xiaoyan chemical plant
Year: 1995

WEIXIAN built its first pilot plant of 0.25MT/hr - Xiaoyan chemical plant in 1995. The technology processes started from sulfur melting, sulfur combustion, air drying, to SO3 film sulphonation, ageing & stabilization. All technology, equipments, instruments and control system were designed and supplied by WEIXIAN, especially the proprietary DKDF-250 Multitube Film Sulfonation Reactor. The plant had produced linear/branched/heavy alkyl benzene sulfonic acid/sodium, sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium lauryl ester sulphate, ect. Our professional technicians had collected a lot of data about plant performance and design parameter, and accumulated rich experience and data.
